I. Trading situation of domestic wholesale market of fresh agricultural products  

According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Agriculture, the "national wholesale Price Index of agricultural products" in the 11th week of 2016 (from March 14 to 20, 2016, the same below) was 226.51(100 in 200 years), up 3.66 points from the previous week;  The National Wholesale Price Index of vegetable basket products was 232.94(100 in 2000), up 4.48 points from the previous week, with vegetables and pork contributing the most  

Focus on monitoring 50 wholesale markets  

Total trading volume of 60 varieties was 509,300 tons, down 2.5 percent from the previous week.  

1. Pork prices continued to rise slightly, while egg prices were flat and slightly down.  The weekly average price of pork per kilogram was 24.95 yuan, up 1.4% month-on-month, 0.3 points higher than last week, 45.6% higher than last year;  Eggs per kg 7.12 yuan, down 0.1% month on month, for the fifth consecutive week of decline, the decline narrowed 1.7 points than last week, 12.5% lower than last year;  Beef per kg 53.90 yuan, up 0.2% month on month, 0.5% lower than the same period last year;  Mutton 46.34 yuan per kg, down 0.7% month on month, 11.8% lower than the same period last year;  White stripe chicken is 15.50 yuan per kg, up 1.3% month-on-month and 2.9% year on year.  The trading volume of the above 5 kinds of livestock products under key monitoring last week (total trading volume of 50 key wholesale markets, the same below) was 24,000 tons, up by 3.0% month on month.  

2. Prices of aquatic products were mixed.  Weekly prices for large yellow croaker, young fish, bass fish and busy fish were $40.34, $12.30, $30.86 and $14.10 per kg respectively  

Up 0.8% month-on-month,  

0.7%, 0.2% and 0.1%;  White salmon, carp and grass carp were 6.56 yuan, 11.72 yuan and 12.07 yuan, respectively, down 1.1%, 0.8% and 0.6% from the previous month.  Trading volume of 7 kinds of aquatic products last week 13,500 tons, decreased 0.7% month on month.  

3. Vegetable prices rose slightly, 40 percent higher than last year.  The weekly average price of 28 kinds of vegetables was 5.57 yuan per kilogram, up 3.9% month on month and 42.1% higher than that of last year.  By breed,  

23 vegetables went up in price, five  

Among them, Chinese cabbage increased by 21.9%, white gourd and green onion increased by 15.9% and 10.5% respectively, and other varieties increased by less than 10%.  Cucumber, lettuce, lotus root, ginger and zucchini were down 4.7%, 3.0%, 2.6%, 1.2% and 0.2% respectively.  The trading volume of 28 vegetables last week was 382,100 tons, down 5.1 percent from the previous week.  

4. The price of fruit falls more than it rises.  The weekly average price of 7 kinds of fruits under key monitoring was 5.16 yuan per kilogram, down 0.4% month-on-month and 16.0% lower than the same period last year.  By variety, pineapple, Fuji apple and banana fell 5.7%, 2.2% and 1.8% respectively;  Watermelon and grapevine rose 4.2% and 2.2%, respectively.  Seven fruits traded 81,300 tons last week, up 10.0% month on month.  

2. International prices of bulk agricultural products have risen  

The average closing week prices for soybean oil, corn, soybean and wheat contracts on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange were $724, $145, $328 and $172 per ton, up 5%, 2%, 2% and 1% respectively month-on-month and 8%, 2%, 7% and 9% respectively year-over-year.  The International Sugar Council weekly average price of raw sugar was 15.46 cents per pound ($341 per ton), up 5% month on month and 19% year on year.  The weekly average price per ton of Thai 100%B grade and 5% broken rate rice offshore Bangkok was US $393 and US $385, respectively, up 1% month-on-month and 6% lower year-on-year.  The weekly average price of Malaysian palm oil landed at Rotterdam was US $676 per tonne, up 1% month-on-month and 5% year on year.  The International Cotton Index (SM grade) averaged 67.96 cents per pound ($1,498 per ton) on a weekly basis, up 1% month-on-month and 8% lower year-on-year.
